Mail houses and printers coordinate the production and mailing of campaign literature. Consultants and vendors who provide these goods and services but do not consider themselves to be a mail house or printer should still refer to the documentation requirements below. Consultants should also refer to the contract requirements in the Consultants section.
During the Campaign
Mail houses and printers must provide itemized documentation that includes a brief description of each piece printed and/or mailed, with enough specificity that each document can be easily matched to the campaign’s own copy.

If you are designing materials for the campaign, be aware that all printed materials must include a “Paid for by” statement, followed by the name of the campaign committee. The statement must be in a font of conspicuous size and style, contained in a box within the borders of the communication, and must be in the same language as the majority of communication. For example, if the communication is mostly in Spanish, the “paid for by” statement must be in Spanish.
